Water Heater Services in Moraga, CA

Moraga, California Water Heater Services

Some people might say that the water heater is one of the most important, and yet under appreciated appliances in the home. Typically, the water heater is installed somewhere hidden in the house like a closet or in the garage, and it isn’t necessary to interact with it in order to go about your day.

However, the chores that you are able to complete by having a properly working water heater are numerous including: washing the dishes, taking a shower, and doing laundry. Water heaters are very important to our day to day progress.

Luckily, the outstanding plumbing team at Absolute Plumbing and Drain has more than a decade of experience supporting various makes and models of both tankless and standard water heaters. In fact, a majority of the homeowners in the Moraga area have come to rely on our professional and licensed plumbers for their water heater installation, maintenance, and repair needs.

Tankless Water Heaters

A tankless water heating system is a good option for those who are looking to improve the energy-efficiency of your home and implement ‘Green’ appliances. The technology behind a tankless water heating system is to heat water on-demand, rather than heating a tank full of water and keeping it stored until it is needed.

To achieve this, the tankless water heating system, which does not have a storage tank for water, is installed on a wall and connected to your plumbing system. When hot water is needed in the home somewhere, the heat engagers in the tankless water heater engage the pipes that the cold water is moving through to heat up and thus heat the water.

Through this process, approximately two to five gallons of water can be heated per minute, and this volume will maintain until the hot water is no longer needed and the faucet is shut off.

Whether you need repair or maintenance for your standard water heater, or you would like information about having a tankless water heater installed the highly-skilled plumbers at Absolute Plumbing and Drain have the training and the experience to do the job. Every member of our team is dedicated to maintaining extensive knowledge about all of the latest water heater technology and committed to providing 100% customer satisfaction.

Standard Tank Water Heaters

More than 80% of the homes in the US have a standard tank water heating system. These units have been around for many years and are budget-friendly to install and operate. While the tanks on these systems come in various sizes, the typical household has a 40 to 50 gallon water heating tank.

Once the tank is installed, the power source for the heating element is chosen, and the pipes are connected to your home’s plumbing system cold water is drained into the storage tank until it is full. The heating element is then engaged by a power source such as propane, electric, or gas and heats the water in the tank to the designated temperature, usually 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once the tank is filled with 120 degree water, the water sits in the storage tank waiting to be used. If any amount of water is used, for tasks like taking a shower or doing a load of dishes, the tank refills itself so that the full capacity of the tank is always reached. If new cold water comes into the tank, or the water in the tank sits long enough to cool down, the heating element engages again and heats the water to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
